The Kwara State police command has arrested and paraded 25 suspects for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Addressing journalists after the parade, the State Commissioner of Police, Lawan Ado noted that the six kidnappers and cattle rustlers killed a policeman in an attempt to arrest the gang.

Addressing journalists, the Police Commissioner, 19 suspects were arrested from different locations in Ilorin for armed robbery, house burglary and car theft.

Another set of six kidnappers he noted were arrested based on intelligence shared with their counterparts from Niger states on movements of 233 cattle from Kwara state.

Attempt to arrest the gang led to an exchange of fires which led to the death of a policeman.

The leader of the gang name Adamu Abacha fled the scene into the bush as the body of the policeman was later found together with his rifle.

In an interview, a member of the gang that killed the policemen claimed innocence noting that it was the leader of the gang on the run that carried out the killing.

The police boss appealed to the public to continue sharing information with the police to ensure that crimes are reduced to the barest minimum.

The suspects according to the police boss will soon be charged to court.
