The Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel, has called on Chinese investors to take advantage of the favourable economic environment in the state by exploring the abundant investment potentials for the benefit of the Nigeria and China.

Governor Emmanuel made this known when the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian, and other embassy staff visited the governor at the Government House in Uyo.

The governor identified agriculture, aviation and the rich aquatic life in the state as some important areas which could be explored for the benefit of the two countries.

He assured the Chinese delegation of his administration’s support by creating an enabling environment to ensure a beneficial cooperation.

On his part, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian acknowledged the cordial relations between his country and Nigeria since 1971.

He said he was in the state to explore new ways to further strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the areas of agriculture, manufacturing and infrastructural development.

He noted that the state has huge economic potentials which his country could tap into to deepen existing cooperation, noting that the Beijing summit of the forum of China and Africa development which holds later this year, will help to encourage strategic partnership between China and Africa.
