Bauchi Governor Describes Dogara’s Claims As 'Ridiculous'

The Bauchi Government has declared three days of mourning over the death of the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Ali Wakili.

The state government also stated that during the three days, the flags will fly at half-mast.

Governor Mohammed Abubakar described him as a vibrant Senator whose contributions will be missed on the floor of the Senate Chambers.

The Governor through his spokesman, Ali Ali said that the Senators contributions have helped in shaping national discourse.

“The Executive Governor of Bauchi state has, therefore, declared three days of mourning during which time flags will fly at half-mast.

“He has also suspended all state duties in Abuja and is returning home to mourn after witnessing funeral prayers in the nation’s capital.

“The governor has similarly directed the reduction, by two hours, of the closing time of workers in the state during the three days of mourning.

“He takes solace in the qur’anic injunction that every soul shall taste death and therefore, prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed legislator also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss”.
