The Katsina State Government has revealed plans to facilitate the release of about 116 inmates presently held in the state’s prison.
State Governor, Aminu Masari stated this on Monday while receiving a delegation from the Presidential Committee for Prison Reform and Decongestion.
The delegation was on a courtesy visit to the governor in Katsina.
Governor Masari said that the state government is making provisions for separate criminals awaiting trial and those that have been sentenced.
According to him, the rate of criminals in the state will be reduced.
