Troops have arrested three suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Ngurore district of Adamawa State, North-east Nigeria.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, revealed this in a statement signed by him on Thursday.
According to him, troops of 23 Brigade Nigerian Army attached to Operation Lafiya Dole arrested the suspects on Wednesday, following a tip-off.
The suspects – Adam Yagga, Musa Kamsulum and Abba Djidoum are all from Darajimal in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State.
Brigadier General Chukwu said Djidoum confessed to having operated with the Boko Haram terrorists at fringes of Izza, Wudula and Blakule in Bama (LGA) of Borno State.
He added that the suspect, who sustained series of gunshot wounds on his thigh, is undergoing preliminary investigation with 23 Brigade Provost Company.
The Army authorities commended patriotic members of the Civilian Joint Task Force for their resilience and continued cooperation with the troops.
They also urge members of the public to emulate their vigilance and security consciousness by reporting any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest military location.
The Army further reminded repentant Boko Haram fighters that the window of opportunity to embrace the Federal Government Amnesty program is still open to them to surrender and lay down their weapons.
