President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja the Federal Capital Territory for the London, United Kingdom.

President Buhari on Monday left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for London after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership.

The President at the APC NEC meeting declared the intention to seek re-election.

During his visit to the United Kingdom, President Buhari is expected to hold discussions on Nigeria – British relations with Prime Minister Theresa May prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings scheduled for 18th to 20th April, 2018.

He is also expected to meet with the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Plc, Mr Ben van Beurden, in connection with Shell and other partners’ plan to invest $15b in Nigeria’s oil industry.

President Buhari is also due to renew discussions with the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend and Rt. Honourable Justin Welby on inter-religious harmony in Nigeria and worldwide.

Further meetings have also been scheduled for President Buhari to interact with some prominent British and Nigerians residing in Britain.
