The police on Wednesday arrested the lawmaker representing Delta Central senatorial district, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker was picked up by the police on Wednesday afternoon at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
This is in connection with the invasion of the Senate House of Assemly by hoodlums who eventually made away with the mace
The Red Chamber has since condemned the incident and accused Senator Omo-Agege of leading the hoodlums to plenary to seize its symbol of authority.
The National Assembly has also given the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and Director General of the Department of State Security, Lawal Daura, 24 hours to recover the stolen Mace.
