Eid-El-Fitri: Ooni Calls For Religious Tolerance, Peaceful Coexistence

The Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II has felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the completion of the 2018 Ramadan fast, called on all to imbibe the spirit of religious tolerance to allow peaceful coexistence.

The monarch, in his Ramadan message signed on Friday by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare, said the Ramadan month is one of purity and faithfulness. He admonished Muslims to henceforth abstain from any act of ungodliness, even after the Holy month of Ramadan.

“I fervently believe you all have fulfilled the spiritual obligations attached to the holy Ramadan and come out with renewed spiritual energy, purified heart of kindness and forgiveness.

“You must rededicate yourselves to the service of Almighty Allah and humanity. Purify your souls, repent on your wrongdoings, observe self-sacrifices and devote your attention to ensuring peaceful coexistence with members of other religious sects as human beings serve one God,” Ooni Ogunwusi said.

Ooni is currently on a two-week peace and unity visit to Brazil accompanied by an entourage including 17 notable Yoruba traditional rulers drawn from the southwest states, Kwara State, scholars, priests, members of Herbal Therapy Society Of Nigeria led by Chief Akintunde Ayeni.
