The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received another batch of 160 returnees from Libya.

The returnees arrived Nigeria after being stranded in the North African country following failed attempts to reach different European countries.

On their arrival at the cargo wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos on Thursday night, the returnees were received by an official of NEMA.

Segun Afolayan, representative of the Director General of the agency, Mustapha Maihajja received the returnees on behalf of the agency.

They arrived on board a Libyan flight which had seven female adults and 153 male adults.

Thousands of Nigerians stranded in Libya have returned home in the past few months under the assisted voluntary returnees programme, coordinated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
