Soldiers deployed in the Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno State have intercepted a teenager, Zainab Mohammed, who escaped from the captivity of Boko Haram terrorists.

The Director Army Public Relations Brigadier General Texas Chukwu revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

He said the troops of 28 Task Force Brigade intercepted the 15-year-old at Gubla area of the state in North-East Nigeria.

Brigadier General Chukwu added that the hostage would be handed over to the appropriate authority after they conclude their investigation.

Similarly, the soldiers successfully repelled an attack by the insurgents and recovered some items from them.

They include an AK-47 rifle as well as one magazine containing four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
