The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, on Wednesday defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor announced his defection while addressing a crowd of supporters at the Government House in Sokoto.

He said took the decision consulting with the people of Sokoto who assured him of their support for his next political move.
Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is the third APC governor to dumped the party for the PDP after his Benue and Kwara state counterparts, Samuel Ortom and Abdulfatah Ahmed.
