Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson has lost his mother, Mrs GoldCoast Dickson.
The governor who disclosed this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Francis Agbo, said his mother died of cancer on Thursday at the age of 72.
According to him, the deceased has been receiving treatment at a hospital in Texas, the United States, where she eventually passed on.
Governor Dickson thanked the facility management, especially the team of medical professionals who did their best to save his mother’s life.
He also commended family members, friends, political associates, and Nigerians for their prayers and support in the most trying times for his family.
The statement read, “Until her last breath, she (late GoldCoast) was a quintessential mother, devout Christian and community leader who devoted her lifetime to the service of God and humanity. Funeral details will be announced by the family at a later date.”
