NASS Siege: Saraki Meets Chairmen Of 45 Political Parties

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has met with the Chairmen of 45 political parties at the National Assembly in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The meeting between the Senate President and the party chairmen is to investigate the siege laid to the National Assembly by men of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Security operatives on Tuesday prevented lawmakers and staff from entering the premises of the Assembly complex.

The officers alleged that the instruction was an “Order from Above”.

The Party chairmen in their remark condemned the barricade, noting that their visit was to pay solidarity to the Senate President.

Senate President while addressing a press conference on Wednesday described the blockade as an “Assault to Legislature.

Saraki noted that the barricade by security officials was a show of shame which should not have happened in the first place.

The crisis at the National Assembly had been widely condemned by a lot Nigerians which led to the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, terminating the appointment of the DSS Boss, Lawan Musa Daura.

Osinbajo vowed to punish the perpetrators behind the blockade.
