The Nigerian Army says it has killed three suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Borno State.
The insurgents were neutralised on Wednesday by troops of 151 Battalion deployed in Operation Lafiya Dole, said Army Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu.
In a statement on Friday, Brigadier General Chukwu disclosed that the soldiers killed the terrorists during an ambush along Banki Junction at Mayanti village in Bama Local Government Area of the state.
Items recovered from the insurgents include three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 32 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle, and two mobile phones.
The Army spokesman disclosed that the soldiers were making efforts to apprehend other fleeing members of the terrorist group.
