Several houses and properties have been destroyed following an overnight downpour in Lapi Local Government Area of Niger State.
About 1,000 people were also said to be displaced when the incident occurred in Doba village.
According to an eyewitness, the residents started witnessing flood in the early hours of Monday.
The flood is said to have been caused by an overflow from the River Gurara.
Although no life was lost, farmlands were however reported to have been affected by the flood.
The Director-General of the State Emergency Management Agency, Abubakar Inga, said that the agency is still gathering information concerning the incident.
