The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has rejected the results of the Osun governorship election rerun.

Secondus described what transpired during the election in Osun State as a dark moment for Nigeria’s democracy.

He also decried the operations of the police and other security agencies before and during the election as partisan and warned about the urgent need not to allow the country to slide into lawlessness.

“We are sad that if this is what is going to take place in 2019, then the future of Nigeria’s democracy is bleak and we are sliding into crisis,” he said.

According to him, the PDP is worried that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari will not relinquish power in 2019 if the party is defeated at the polls.
