The Kaduna State High Court, has again, adjourned its ruling on the bail application of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

The presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada adjourned sitting on the matter to November 7, 2018, citing security concerns.

The defence and prosecuting counsels explained that the adjournment became necessary because of insufficient security at the trial venue, as a result of the visit of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to the state today (October 4).

Justice Kurada had fixed today for the hearing following the written application filed by El-Zakzaky’s counsel during the last sitting on August 2, 2018.

The IMN leader is facing trial over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace, among other charges.

Himself and his wife were first arraigned on May 15, 2018, following their arrest in Zaria, in December 2015.
