Nigeria’s D’tigress have risen to 19th in the latest FIBA world ranking after reaching the quarter-finals of the world cup in Spain on Friday, October 2018.
D’tigress lost their opening game against Australia but rebounded with victories over turkey, Argentina and Greece to become the first African team to reach the last 8.
Their historic run in tenerife which was ended by the united states saw them jump 15 spots from 34th in the world, making them the biggest climber for the month of October.
Nigeria placed 8th overall out of the 16 countries that featured at the world cup.
