The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has cancelled the Zamfara State Governorship primaries.
The party in a statement signed on Saturday by the acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena said the cancellation was approved after the Professor Abubakar Faki- APC Zamfara State Governorship Primaries Committee announced the cancellation of the primaries.

Nabena added that the cancellation was necessary due to alleged election malpractices and violence which marred the primaries.
This they said include, “snatching of election materials and result sheets by the State’s government officials which were taken to the Government House, Gusau.”
Subsequently, the Party’s NWC has approved the cancellation of the Governorship primaries, noting that a new date will be announced soonest.
The NWC also said it is committed to free, fair and transparent primaries across the country.
