The Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has held an emergency security meeting with heads of security agencies in the state.

The meeting which comes after the violence that broke out in the state capital on Sunday is to review the security situation in the state.

Although the state government has placed a 24 hours curfew to avert any further breakdown of law and order, our correspondent reports that a combined team of soldiers, police and other security agencies have taken over the streets of Kaduna metropolis to avert any further breakdown of law and order.

The entire metropolis has turned into a ghost town as residents stayed indoors in compliance with the no movement order.

However, following rumours of reprisal attacks in Narayi, Ungwar Muazu and Kawo areas, security operatives have been deployed to the areas in order to secure lives and property of residents.

Meanwhile, Governor El-Rufai has visited victims of Sunday’s attack at the various hospitals where they are receiving treatment.
