The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has described the death of the former Minister of Works and Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tony Anenih, as a huge vacuum that is difficult to fill.

Governor Dickson, in a press statement, said he received the news of Anenih’s death with shock, adding that Nigeria has lost a political colossus.

The governor, who is also chairman of the South-South Governors Forum, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the South-South geopolitical zone and the entire country will miss Anenih for his selfless contributions to the growth of the PDP, development of the region and Nigeria in general.

“Chief Anenih will be remembered for his immense contribution to the growth of PDP, development of the South-South region and Nigeria in general. Mr Fix It, as he was fondly called, was a political icon, a nationalist and a great leader of men.

“He was a political colossus. His passing has created a huge vacuum in our political landscape that will be difficult to fill,” he said.

The governor, while commiserating with the immediate and political family of the former Minister of Works, said the late octogenarian politician offered meritorious service to the country that they should be proud of.

He prayed to God for the repose of Anenih’s soul.
