A former governor of Bauchi State, Mr Isa Yuguda, has announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN).
Leader of the Yuguda Alheri Movement, Mr Salisu Barau, made the announcement on Thursday while addressing a press conference on behalf of the former governor in Bauchi.
He said the decision taken by the former governor was widely accepted by his supporters in the state.
Yuguda was elected governor of Bauchi State on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in 2007.
This followed his failure to secure the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the election.
However, he returned to the PDP in 2009 and left the party again after his term as governor was over.
Before joining the APC, the former governor failed to win GPN’s ticket to contest for the Bauchi South senatorial seat in the 2019 general elections.
