Ganduje, Five Governors Chair APC Reconciliation Committees
(File) Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and his Oyo State counterpart, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, are among the governors appointed by the APC to chair its peace and reconciliation committees.

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and five other governors to head its National Peace and Reconciliation committees.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

According to him, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC approved the formation and composition of a reconciliation committee for each of the six geopolitical zones in the country.

Issa-Onilu explained that the approval followed the NWC’s recognition of the need to address the disputes triggered by the primary elections held across the states.

Governor Ganduje heads the reconciliation committee in the South East while Governor Samuel Lalong (Plateau), Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Senator Godswill Akpabio, Mr Umaru Dembo, Mr Nasiru Koki, and Mrs Ify Okoye are members.

For the South West, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State is the chairman with Governor Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Governor Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos), Senator Ken Nnamani, Professor Modupe Adelabu, Dr Dakuku Peterside, and Senator Seida Bugaje are members.

Governor Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Governor Abubakar Bello (Niger), Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Mr Emeka Wogu, Mr Sullivan Chime, and Mrs Aleluchi Cookey-Gam are members of the South-South committee headed by Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.

The North West committee has Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State as chairman with Governor Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi), Governor Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Senator Adamu Aliero, Senator Danjuma Goje, Senator Jim Nwobodo, and Ambassador Fati Balla as members.

Governor Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State chairs the North Central committee which members include Governor Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Governor Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa), Mr Pius Akinyelure, Mrs Vivian Chukwuani, and Mr Audu Ogbe.

In conclusion, the North East committee is headed by Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State while its members are Governor Aminu Masari (Katsina), Governor Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Mrs Jumoke Anifowoshe, Mr Matthew Omegara, Ms Hafsat Baba, and General Abdullahi Aboki.

The APC spokesman announced that the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, would inaugurate the committees on Wednesday.
