2019 Election: Atiku, Obi, Saraki, Tambuwal, Others Meet In Rivers
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate Peter Obi, and other zonal coordinators of his campaign team have held a meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
PDP leaders at the meeting include PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus; Senate President Bukola Sarak; Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara; former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel; former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose; former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi; Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, among others.
The meeting, which started on Friday night and lasted till Saturday evening, is believed to be a consolidation meeting ahead of the 2019 elections.
The meeting was held at the campaign office of the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, which also houses the presidential campaign office of the party’s presidential candidate.
Although no official statement was made at the end of the meeting, issues bothering on the 2019 elections and the refusal President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the electoral law were expected to be discussed at the meeting.
