Senator Shehu Sani has curated a town hall meeting in honour of the traditional ruler of Agom Adara Chiefdom, Maiwada Galadima.

The Agom Adara was confirmed dead by the Kaduna State government in October.

A special aide to the governor, Mr. Samuel Aruwan in making the disclosure had described the killing of the traditional ruler in Kachia LGA of the state as inhuman.

A town hall meeting in remembrance of the late monarch was held on Wednesday, December 26.

Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure via his Twitter page.

The lawmaker representing Kaduna central also posted some photos from the gathering.

Gunmen had intercepted the convoy of the royal father at Maikyali village along Kaduna-Kachia Road and opened fire on the vehicles which forced them to come to a halt.

During the operation, the traditional ruler’s police orderly and three others in his convoy were shot dead by the gunmen who later took him and his wife away to an unknown location.

The traditional ruler’s wife regained her freedom two days after the abduction, but the Agom Adara was held hostage by his abductors who demanded a ransom from his family.

Mr. Samuel Aruwan, an aide to Governor El-Rufai, later disclosed that the body of the traditional ruler was found near a bush at Kateri area.

Aruwan called for calm in all the communities and assured the residents that those behind the killing of the monarch would not go unpunished.

Similarly, President Muhammadu Buhari says the Federal Government will take strongest measures possible to punish anyone found culpable in the monarch’s killing.

In a condolence visit to the state, the President said, “If in the past, they got away scot-free, we shall now hold everyone to account for these latest killings.”

At a meeting with senior government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, religious, political and community leaders at the Musa Yar’Adua Sports Complex, the president noted that it is unacceptable that criminal elements can unleash such violence on innocent citizens.

He directed the Nigeria Police Force to remain vigilant in securing communities and diligent in prosecuting criminal offences.
