Buhari Visits Enugu, Anambra States

He was received in Enugu by the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as some ministers including Geoffrey Onyeama (Foreign Affairs), Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology), and Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation).

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived in Enugu State.

The President’s aircraft touched down at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport at about 9:54am.

He was received by the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as some ministers including Geoffrey Onyeama (Foreign Affairs), Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology), and Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation).

Some members of the State Executive Council and heads of security agencies among others were also at the airport to receive the President.

Shortly after his arrival, President Buhari and his entourage headed for Anambra State where he would pay a courtesy visit to the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.

He is also expected to inaugurate the Zik Mausoleum at the commercial city of the state before addressing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a rally.

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, along with several traditional and religious leaders among other dignitaries are already present at Igwe Achebe’s palace to receive the President.

Meanwhile, President Buhari would return to Enugu to inaugurate the Post-Graduate Centre of Excellence built by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and donated to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He is also expected to attend a rally of the APC in the state before returning to Abuja.
