The construction of a giant broom, which is the symbol of the All Progressives Congress near the city gate of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja has split opinion and created a storm on social media.
While some have faulted the construction, others have only made fun of the development.
France has the Eifel tower.
U.s, the statue of liberty.
India, Taj Mahal.

Why are you people complaining because of this ordinary broom at City Gate?
From tomorrow, helicopters will be flying all over Abuja and dropping brooms on everyone’s roof.

Damn it. Why deface the capital city this way? And the FCT Minister approved this? How many votes will this giant broom get you? I bet zero. No sane person will decide to vote the APC on account of this giant broom. So, that makes it a pointless and stupid image. Take it down! pic.twitter.com/P7JETADR7s

What is your problem with this broom?
🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/kGZ5e6Prud— Sinatra (@OfficialHudan) February 8, 2019
The FCT Minister approved the erection of this giant broom in such a location – right beside the city gate – but has twice cancelled – working with an Anyim – an approval to erect the world’s biggest billboard along the same road . Abuse of power! h/t @rotexonline pic.twitter.com/vSwZURaeFz
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) February 8, 2019
The broom doesn't represent anything to Nigerian or Nigeria.
It's a symbol of a party, just one political party.
But it has been mounted at the front of FCT.
Again this country is not for all of us pic.twitter.com/4ONv4oe1P6
