The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and co-chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bola Tinubu, were also present at the rally.

Others present are the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as well as the Director General of the campaign council, Rotimi Amaechi, and several leaders of the party.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) also attended the rally to declare their support for the President in the coming polls.

There was, however, tension at the venue when party supporters booed and stoned the APC National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, while speaking at the event.

Troubled started when Oshiomhole announced Mr Dapo Abiodun as the party’s governorship candidate in the state.

Calm began to return gradually as Governor Amosun appealed to the party supporters to show restraint and respect the presence of President Buhari.

The situation was later brought under control when the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, give a speech at the event.

Professor Osinbajo urged the party supporters to be in unity among themselves and collectively support the President in the polls.

Shortly after, President Buhari addressed the crowd while tension started to build up again when he raised Abiodun’s hands as the APC flag bearer in the state.

Some of the angry supporters threw things towards his direction but the President and other party leaders were shielded by a team of security operatives.
