Ex-APC Governorship Aspirant Resigns From Osun Govt

 

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 11 Command, Adeleye Oyebade, has assured residents of Ila Orangun Community in Ila Local Government Area of Osun state of peace ahead of Saturday’s general elections.

Oyebade gave the assurance on Wednesday during a meeting with the Police Commissioners from Oyo, Osun, and Ondo commands on security and logistics arrangements for the polls.

While reiterating the determination of the police to maintain law and order, Oyebade warned all politicians to sheath their sword.

According to him, the police in collaboration with its sister agencies will not hesitate to deal with anyone found culpable of disrupting the elections.

The remarks come shortly after residents of the Ila Orangun Community raised an alarm over the recent shootings in the area.

Addressing newsmen in Ila town, Spokesperson for the Ila Elders consultative forum, Gabriel Ajiboye sued for peace and called for a level playing ground for all candidates vying for various political offices.

“For some time now, there have been reports of shootings in the area which resulted in people being injured.

“There has also been a further report of likely disturbances between now and the election time next Saturday,” he stated.

Ajiboye appealed to residents of the community to be law abiding and cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order.
