The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, says Adamawa State is relatively calm contrary to fears of Boko Haram attacks in the northeast.

He stated this on Saturday in Yola, the Adamawa state capital after successfully casting his vote.

The SGF who arrived his polling unit in the new government house at about 10:00 am proceeded for his accreditation before receiving his ballot papers.

He said, “As far as the security situation is concerned, Adamawa, where I am now, is relatively calm. I have not picked up any information that gives me any concern.

“There have been issues on the social media and even on the electronic media. I just listened to the television of incidences in other parts of the country. The security agents have been well rehearsed and prepared for this kind of situation,” he stated.

Similarly, the state Governor, Mr Mohammed Jibrilla, said he wanted the polls to be peaceful and transparent.

“I want this election to be very peaceful. That is my own prayer. The important thing is for it to be free, fair and credible,” he stated.
