A High Court sitting in Yola, the Adamawa State capital has adjourned ruling on an order restraining Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting the governorship supplementary election in the state.

In their various addresses, counsel to INEC argued that the candidate of Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democratic (MRDD) was not validly nominated for the governorship election.

He said that the case is also not within the jurisdiction of the court.

But Counsel to MRDD Demi Gbetun, insists that their client was duly nominated and the court has the right to hear the case.

The application by counsel to PDP Joe Gadzama to join in the suit was withdrawn because according to him, there was a need to do so.

He said Counsel to MRDD and the second plaintiff were trying to cause a delay so that the matter is not heard and time is of the essence in an election matter.

Having heard both arguments, the court extended the interim injunction until the determination of the earlier motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.
