The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has defended the scheduling of the governorship supplementary election in Adamawa state for Thursday, March the 28th, insisting the exercise does not have to take place on a weekend.
INEC’s director of voter education and publicity, Mr. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi explained that the election is not for the whole state and will be conducted in only forty-four polling units.

On the appeal court’s verdict nullifying the All Progressives Congress primary elections in Zamfara state, Mr. Osaze-Uzzi who spoke on Channels Television’s breakfast show, Sunrise Daily, said the commission will study the judgment.
He listed the options before INEC to include withdrawing the certificates of return from all APC candidates and issuing them to the runners-up in the general elections.
