The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has commenced procedures for the recruitment of 3,200 personnel to fill various positions in the organization. 

According to a publication on the agency’s recruitment portal, the positions to be occupied by prospective staff include Assistant Superintendent of Customs, Assistant Inspector of Customs and Customs Assistant.

The general requirements for the positions are:

“Be a Nigerian Citizen by birth or descent.

“Not be less than 1.7 metres in height, for male and 1.64 metres for female.

“Have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres, male.

“Be certified by a Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment in Service.

“Not be suffering from any form of physical or mental disability.

“Be free from any form of financial embarrassment.

“Be of good character and must not have been found guilty of any criminal offense.

“Present a certificate of state of origin signed by the Chairman/Secretary of their Local Governments.

“Certificates endorsed by Liaison officers are unacceptable.”

NCS is a parastatal operating under the Ministry of Interior with the sole responsibility of protection of the border, prevention of smuggling, among others.

According to the agency, all applications are to be made online, attempts to make hard copy submission with be turned down.

Applicants are advised to make their submissions by visiting the agency’s portal –  www.vacancy.customs.gov.ng

The deadline for submission of application is Monday, 7th May 2019.
