Operation Puff Adda: Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Rustlers In Taraba

 

The Taraba State Police Command has arrested some suspected kidnappers and cattle rustlers terrorising residents of the state.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Alkasim Sanusi, disclosed this while briefing reporters on Friday at the Police Headquarters in Jalingo, the state capital.

He explained that the command recorded the successes following the commencement of Operation  Puff Adder, in line with the directive of the acting Inspector General of Police to flush out criminals from their hideouts.

Sanusi said operation led to the arrest of five suspected kidnappers, four suspected cattle rustlers, murder, as well as some individuals involved in the unlawful possession of firearms.

He noted that the operation was aimed at securing Taraba State appropriately to provide a conducive atmosphere for economic activities.

The police commissioner used the occasion of the briefing to call on the residents to assist the police with useful information that can lead to the arrest of those causing mayhem in the state.

He also urged victims of kidnappers to visit the headquarters of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) in Jalingo, to identify those who abducted them.

Some of the suspects who spoke to reporters confessed to having committed the crimes they were accused of.
