Senator Thanks Buhari, Saraki For Zainab And Abubakar’s Return

The lawmaker representing Kano South district, Senator Kabiru Gaya, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate President, Bukola Sarari, for the release of Zainab Aliyu and Ibrahim Abubakar.

Senator Gaya commended the efforts of the President and the Senate President, as well as that of those who contributed to the safe return of the duo from Saudi Arabia.

He raised a point of order during Tuesday’s plenary in the Senate where he called the attention of his colleagues to the return of Zainab and Abubakar.

The two Nigerians returned to the country on Monday after they were released by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

Zainab and Abubakar were arrested in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking but later released after the Nigerian government intervened in their case.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the duo regained their freedom after the Saudi Arabia government was able to establish their innocence in the case.
