Police Arrest Suspects Over Kidnap Of Governor Masari’s Mother-In-Law
The police in Katsina have arrested some suspects in connection with the abduction of Governor Aminu Masari’s mother-in-law.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the arrest to Channels Television on Wednesday.
According to him, the suspects have been moved to Abuja where further pronouncements are expected to be made.
“It is true that we have made several arrests in connection with the incident, but the suspects have been moved to Abuja. The Force headquarters will make further pronouncements on the issue,” he stated.
The arrest comes two months after the 80-year-old Hajiya Maistiyari who is the mother of Governor Masari’s wife, Binta was kidnapped and released a few days later.
Speaking on the abduction of the district head of Daura, Musa Umar, the spokesman stated that there is no development yet.
He, however, reiterated the commitment of the police to rescue the victim alive and hurt, so that he can be reunited with his family.
“Apart from what was said at the Presidency, there had not been any new development concerning the abduction of the Daura district head.
“But I can assure you, we are working very hard towards seeing that the district head is rescued alive and we shall keep you posted,” he said.
