The authorities of the Ogwashi Uku polytechnic in Delta State have said that the police are working hard to arrest the killers of its slain worker, John Chukwudi.

Chukwudi, a 32-year-old man was until his death on Wednesday, an employee in the department of Entrepreneurship Studies (EED).

Speaking to Channels Television, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Manford Oyibogbeye, has given the assurance that the killers of the slain staff will be arrested.

It was a shocker for us. We also learnt that the police have rushed to that scene. As I speak, the matter is under investigation.

I cannot make a categorical statement right now but the police are at work. The fact is that the young man is our staff and the department he worked is the Entrepreneurship Studies (EED), he stated.

Oyibogbeyes comments come three days after Chukwudi was shot dead while driving out from a popular hotel within the area.

Following the development, students and staff have bemoaned the insecurity challenge currently faced by the institution, asking for adequate security to protect lives and properties.

Some students still wonder why a peaceful and vibrant man like Biggie as he was fondly called would be killed in such a manner.

At the premises of the deceased where he lived used to live with his wife and aged mother, neighbours are yet to come to terms with his absence.

While they carry on with the memories of the deceased, the students and members of staff can only hope that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
