16 Killed, 14 Injured As Suspected Bandits Attack Zamfara Community

Suspected bandits have launched an attack on the people of Kanoma community in Maru local government area of Zamfara state, killing 16 people while 14 others sustained injuries.

According to the district head Kanoma community, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed, the bandits came in large numbers and shot indiscriminately at whoever crossed their way.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Bello Matawalle has ordered the immediate deployment of security agencies and ensure that the perpetrators of the act are arrested.

The governor who paid a condolence visit to the people described the act as unfortunate and inhumane.

He assured the people that his administration is ready to collaborate with all well-meaning citizens to end the security challenges facing the state.

Matawalle also directed the immediate transfer of all the victims who sustained injuries from gunshots from Kanoma General Hospital, to the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau for better medication.
