Eighteen passengers have been burnt beyond recognition in a fatal road accident that occurred on Saturday morning along the Akure-Owo Highway.
Channels Television gathered that the accident occurred when a bus had a head-on collision with a truck which led to the two vehicles bursting into flames.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph, said the remains of victims of the accident have been deposited at the mortuary of the State Specialist Hospital in Akure.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Corps Commander, Ondo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Olusegun Ogungbemide, also confirmed the accident.
He disclosed that the accident was caused by overspeeding while the driver of the bus was trying to avoid potholes on the road.
