Ganduje Reveals Community Policing Strategy To Include Five Emirates

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje

Concerned by the security challenges facing the North Western states in particular and the country in general, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has unveiled a strategy to incorporate all the five Emirates in the states towards improving community policing.

The governor said the strategy is to save the states and the country in general, against security challenges plaguing some affected areas.

He said it is also to also improve upon areas that are safe or relatively safe.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, Governor Ganduje said security should have all hands on deck towards resolving any real or imagined challenge.

He said, “We are committed to modern-day policing. That is community policing. Through which, our nation’s security system will comply with the global best practices.

“Our understanding of the importance and relevance of the inclusion of members of the public in securing our society, keeps us in total touch with our traditional institutions, being closer to our people. Particularly those at the grassroots” explained Ganduje.

Ganduje directed all the five Emirs in the state to maintain the monthly security meetings with their District Heads, security agencies and other community leaders.

He also asked that they should also ensure that the same order goes down the ladder, down to the Ward Heads and other equally relevant and useful community leaders.
