Jigawa Assembly Elects Speaker and Deputy Speaker For the Seventh Assembly

Idris Garba Kareka, a State Reps Member representing Jahun Constituency, has just emerged the speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly with no opposition.

Mr. Garba Kareka was the speaker of the house since 2015 until he was impeached in 2017 and reelected in May 2019 and now reelected today, making him the only speaker to be sworn in three times.

Similarly, Suleiman Musa Kadara, member representing Guri local government was also elected in a similar style by the house as the new deputy speaker of the house.

In an interview with the member representing Hadejia constituency, Mr. Abubakar Muhammad, who seconded the nomination of Mr. Kareka, describes him as a gentleman and honest man.
