Ruga: Nasarawa Governor Sule Urges Farmers, Herders To Embrace Peace

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has asked farmers and herdsmen across the country to embrace peace.

The governor made the appeal in a statement by his Director General, Strategic Communication and Press Affairs, Yakubu Lamai.

His call follows the Federal Government’s suspension of the Ruga programme aimed at tackling the recent clashes that have led to the loss of several lives and properties.

According to the statement, the governor said he believes in peaceful coexistence, inclusiveness as well as embracing all citizens be they, herders or farmers.

He also promised to support initiatives by the Federal Government towards ensuring peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers.

Sule also stressed the willingness of his administration to assist the government in providing initiatives aimed at fostering peace, as well as nurture harmonious relationship between herders and farmers.
