Shiites' Clash With Police In Pictures


The House of Representatives has charged the Federal Government, to urgently engage with the Islamic movement of Nigeria also known as Shiites so that an amicable resolution can be reached to address their grievances.

Considering the issue in plenary as a matter of urgent public importance, the lawmakers also voiced their concern over what they described as the porous nature of the National Assembly and called for adequate measures to be taken to mitigate against future occurrence.

It will be recalled that the Shiites had on Tuesday invaded the National Assembly and allegedly shot a police officer, leaving some others injured.

Bearing this in mind, the lawmakers also called for some compensation to be considered for security officers who were injured in the invasion.
