Chairman of the Henry Stephens Group Nigeria, Dele Fejemirokun, says he was not originally interested in writing his autobiography, “The Making of Me – My Odyssey in Business”.

However, after being pressured from business partners and friends from across the world, he managed to complete the book – which tells the story of how he was transformed through his father’s strict upbringing into a successful entrepreneur.

“It was not originally from me, I don’t have time for such things. But it started with pressures from business partners, bankers in particular abroad and at home, financiers, stock brokers, friends and associates as well as my children.

“It took almost forever because I will write some today and in another four/five months I will wake up at 2:00 am in the morning,” he said at the unveiling of the book – an event which took place at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to the book reviewer, Professor Adebayo Williams, the autobiography is a rich compilation of Chief Fajemirokun’s sojourn in the world of Nigeria’s entrepreneurship and boardroom policies.

The former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade, who was the chairman of the occasion, also extolled the author, describing him as a dedicated and forthright businessman.

Others in attendance included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Chairman of Channels Media Group, John Momoh and Professor Pat Utomi.
