PDP's Petition: APC Decides Not To Call Witness At Tribunal

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has resumed hearing of the suit filed by the Presidential Candidate of Hope Democratic Party (HDP), Ambrose Owuru against President Muhammadu Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the hearing today, INEC and the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Zamfara State are also expected to present documents requested for by the HDP in line with the order of the tribunal delivered on Wednesday July 17.

The party had on July 2, 2019 filed a fresh application to be allowed to amend the already existing witness statement on oath because according to the party, there are clerical errors on the statement of the witness.

The respondents include President Muhammadu Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) all asked for seven days to respond to the application which they all say they intend to oppose.
