The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has condoled with Channels Television over the death of Precious Owolabi.

The late Owolabi, a serving corp member with Channels Television was hit by a stray bullet on Monday during a clash between the Police and members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Abuja.

In a statement signed by the governor says, “On behalf of myself, the government and good people of Kano state, I condole with the Management and entire staff of Channels Television over the death of its reporter, Precious Owolabi, who was hit by a stray bullet on Monday in Abuja during a violent clash between the police and members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

“I was deeply saddened by the untimely death of this budding journalist who is an NYSC member serving with the television.

“Please convey my heartfelt condolences to his family on this great loss of a young man serving his dear nation and trying to cut his teeth in the noble profession.

Governor Ganduje called on relevant authorities to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book.

“I call on relevant authorities to ensure justice triumphs in the matter by bringing everyone complicit in the matter to book.

“Once again, accept my sincere condolences”.
