Suspected bandits on Monday attacked Tashar Kadanya village in Batsari LGA of Katsina state.
Confirming the incidence in a statement, the state police command through its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah said that the DPO of the affected LGA led Operation Puff Adder to the scene and arrived timely.
He explained that the police officers had engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and chased them out of the village which in effect, ten rustled cattle were recovered from the bandits and that no injury or loss of life recorded.

Isah added that the community is now safe and patrols around other villages are vigorously intensified to prevent further attacks
“Today 2/09/2019 at about 03:00hrs, bandits in their numbers attacked Tashar Kadanya village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state, DPO Batsari led Operation Puff Adder to the scene and arrived timely.
“They engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and chased them out of the village. Ten rustled cows were recovered from the bandits. No injury or loss of life.
“The community is safe. Patrols around other villages is vigorously intensified to pro actively prevent any untoward situation”.
