Army Speaks About Recent Attacks On Military Bases In North East

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole and the Civilian Joint Task Force have repelled an attack on a military base in Tungushe area of Borno State.

The insurgents reportedly attacked the military base, where the military engaged them in a battle in which the assailants suffered some casualty.

Channels Television learned that the fleeing insurgents had snatched a gun truck on their way out, it is not clear if the truck had occupants or what had happened to them.

The insurgents reportedly proceeded to the next military location in Gajiganna where they met stiff resistance and were denied access, forcing them to retreat.

It is not clear how many casualties were recorded as the insurgents’ retrieved bodies of their co-fighters while retreating from superior firepower, according to sources.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the 7 Division, Colonel Ado Isa, said he is not aware of any such attack and as such could not give any more details.
