The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the death of one person after a pipeline exploded in Alimosho on Thursday morning.

At the time of the explosion, witnesses had expressed fears that several were killed.

But the General Manager of LASEMA, Mr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed to Channels Television that only one person was killed. According to him, the body has been retrieved from the scene.

The incident at the Baruwa area of Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State is said to have occurred as a result of the activities of vandals engaged in illegal oil bunkering in the area.

Relevant agencies, including LASEMA, were deployed to the scene, and helped to douse the flames.
