With the continuous increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has placed a ban on religious services, weddings, parties and burial ceremonies for the next two weeks.
Similarly, the governor has also ordered that all night clubs in Oyo State should be shut down with immediate effect.
Governor Makinde who said this during a live broadcast in Ibadan reiterated that all gatherings should be limited to 30 persons or less.

He equally directed that the Nigerian Mining and Geoscience Summit should be postponed indefinitely as well as the Oyo State Agribusiness summit to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
While maintaining that no sacrifice was too much to make on the issue of COVID-19, the governor appealed to every individual the directive might have affected to sacrifice for their father’s land so as to prevent untimely death among the people of Oyo State.
